We would like to announce that Stephania Romaniuk, mezzo-soprano, of Calgary AB, will be representing the Intermountain Region at the NATSAA National Competition in July. Turje, the competition winner, has been accepted into a summer program and will be unavailable to compete. Romaniuk won the first alternate place in the recent Regional competition, and we're thrilled that she now has the opportunity to compete.
Romaniuk, is an active performer in opera, operetta, and musicals. In the 2015-16 season, Stephania performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Calgary Civic Symphony, Calgary Bach Festival Society, and Mountainview Festival of Chamber Music and Song. She has done additional interesting work such as producing and self-promoting a recording of Ukrainian cabaret songs and founding the website howtolistentoclassicalmusic.com. She also completed humanitarian tours to Ukraine where she sang at venues including the Odessa, L’viv and Kyiv Opera Theatres and delivered much-needed medical aid to wounded soldiers.
We look forward to hearing Stephania in Chicago!
